Modibbo Adama University, Yola Governing Council, after its 17th special meeting in August 2024, has considered the board report selection and approved the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Umar as the 9th new substantive Vice Chancellor of the University.
In a statement signed by the Information and Protocol officer of the University, Aminu Julde Gurumpawo, that his appointment was not a surprise but worth it.
His appointment was announced by the Pro-chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council M. A. U Yola, H. E. Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi at the end of the meeting.
Prof. Ibrahim Umar is a professor of Crop Protection and hails from the Gombi local government area of Adamawa State.
Until his appointment, he was a Former Rector of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola and will serve a single term of 5 years with effect from the date of his appointment.
