A Nigerian-born medical doctor, Dr. Bello Mode Dange, has been appointed Head of the Paediatric Department at Kavarna General Hospital.

Dr. Dange hails from Dange/Shuni Local Government Area in Sokoto State.
He studied medicine at Medical University of Varna, graduating in 2008.

Dr. Dange has lived and worked in Bulgaria for over 20 years. In 2021, he completed his specialization in paediatrics at University Hospital St. Marina and qualified as a consultant paediatrician.

With the appointment, Dr. Dange became the first African to head the Paediatric Department at the hospital.

The appointment was announced by the management of Kavarna General Hospital and reported by Bulgarian media outlets.

According to the reports, Dr. Dange’s extensive experience and dedication to paediatric healthcare were among the major factors behind the decision.

Colleagues at the hospital described him as a committed clinician whose contributions over the past two decades have significantly improved child healthcare services in the region.

The development has been warmly welcomed by members of the Nigerian community in Bulgaria and the wider diaspora, who described it as another example of Nigerians excelling in the global medical profession.

Dr. Dange’s appointment also adds to the growing number of Nigerian doctors occupying senior clinical and leadership positions across Europe and beyond.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Dange is also known for his philanthropic activities. He provides free medical services and supports the payment of medical bills for some patients in Dange/Shuni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
