The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has expanded its campaign on the newly proposed Tax Reform bills by involving religious leaders in its outreach efforts. As part of its strategy to promote understanding and acceptance of the reforms, NOA staff have been attending mosque and church activities to educate worshippers on the advantages of the bills.

Muhtari Lawal Tsagam, the State Director of the NOA, emphasized the importance of engaging religious leaders to ensure the success of the reform initiatives. Speaking at a town hall meeting with critical stakeholders, Tsagam explained, “Our staff have visited mosques and churches to involve religious leaders in promoting the benefits of the tax reform.”

He added that the involvement of religious figures is crucial for fostering widespread acceptance of the tax measures.

In addition to promoting tax reform, the NOA’s efforts also focus on addressing other significant societal challenges, including the “Get Rich Quick” mentality, insecurity, HIV/AIDS awareness, and human rights issues.

Tsagam highlighted the need for collaboration from all sectors of society to tackle these issues effectively. “Addressing these five critical issues requires cooperation from all citizens, stakeholders, and institutions, as we work together to build a healthier and safer Nigeria,” he stated.

Samaila Balarabe, a lecturer at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, commended the NOA for organizing the town hall meeting, noting that such initiatives are essential for raising awareness and encouraging public participation. He called on Nigerians to support the agency in achieving its goals.

The NOA’s efforts to engage religious institutions in its campaigns reflect a strategic approach to ensure that key national issues are addressed through a broad and inclusive dialogue.
