The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested two suspects for alleged vandalism in Kogi State.
In a statement released on Tuesday night by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Kogi State Command, DSC Abdullahi Aliyu, the suspects, identified as Yakubu Muhammad and Rabiu Suleiman, were apprehended in the Okumi area near Nataco, Lokoja. Their arrest followed a routine patrol and credible intelligence by the anti-vandal task force.
The statement partly reads:“The suspects were caught red-handed while vandalizing an Etisalat antenna (mast). Under the leadership of the Kogi State Commandant, Akinlade Esther, the command remains committed to ensuring that all accomplices are brought to justice, leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to curb such crimes.
“The Commandant urges the good people of Kogi State to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to help prevent security breaches. She also warns individuals with criminal intentions to reconsider, stressing that the corps is unwavering in its mandate to protect lives, properties, and critical national assets and infrastructure.”
DSC Aliyu added that the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
