The Plateau State government has observed that those we less expect are the ones carrying explosive devices and urged the people to be mindful of people dressing abnormally when coming to worship places and other social gatherings.
The Special Adviser to the Plateau State Governor Brig.Gen.G G. Shippi retired was speaking during a stakeholders meeting organised by the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Adesina on the nationwide security threat on Wednesday at Police Officers Mess Jos.
He called all and sundry to prioritize safety measures, assuring that Security awareness is our collective mandate, and the essence of living in peace with one another in the state is paramount.
Brig Gen. G.G. Shippi acknowledged that Mutfwang the led administration will engage all stakeholders as far as peace and security is concerned.
While assuring government determination and desire for continuous clearance of slums for effective governance, he
enumerating some of the safety measures.
Also, the commander of the Anti-Bomb Squad, Nigeria Police, Superintendent of Police, Barde Jonathan, explained the components of EOD and known but lacked consciousness of people around us sometimes the major problems leading to detonation device.
He added that those we less expect are the ones carrying such explosive devices. We have to be mindful of people dressing abnormally when coming to worship places and other social gatherings.
The meeting was necessary
because of the sequel to the recent bomb blast which claimed many lives in Gwaza, Maiduguri, and Borno state, the Nigeria Police Force the Plateau State Command has engaged stakeholders to avert similar occurrences in the state.
Also, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Adesina while addressing stakeholders nationwide tasked all and sundry to prioritize safety measures.
He commended citizens’ participation in security and governance, the CP expressed delight with religious leaders for protecting their worship centres.
The CP cautions Plateau citizens to continue cooperating with security agencies for effective service delivery.
The stakeholders commended the Plateau State government for ease of vehicular movement within the Jthe os and Bukuru metropolis, they also raised concerns and appealed for government intervention over congestion caused by some fuel stations.
Our correspondence reports that the stakeholders present at the meeting include, religious leaders, security heads, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the market association and well as non-governmental organizations.
