The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has commended the security operatives for their efforts put in place to ensure that the six Directors in the Federal Ministry of Defence who were kidnapped recently along Kaba -Lokoja highway to Abuja to sit for promotion exam gain their freedom.

The Association said the six (6) Directors are members of the Association and serving at the Command Day Secondary school Ojo , Lagos and they were kidnapped on the 10th November traveling to Abuja to sit for their promotion exam.

According to the Association, out of six Directors who were kidnapped, four have already gained their freedom while two are yet to regain.

In a statement jointly signed by the National President of the Association, Comrade Shehu Mohammed and the Secretary-General of the Association, Comrade Joshua Apebo and issued to Triumph on Friday in Abuja said the union while commending the security operatives who swung into action to secure their freedom, also enjoined the Defence Ministry to intensify its efforts and ensure that the remaining two Directors are being released or regain their freedom.

The Association noted that the four Directors who have been released and are still undergoing medical observations include Mrs. Helen Ezeakor C., Mrs. Ladoye C.A, Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor and Mrs. Essien Catherine O. while the two who are still missing are Mrs.Emeribe C. A.and Mrs. Onwuzurike J.A.

“The ASCSN leaders used the opportunity to reiterate its call in the Federal Government to decentralize examination and verification exercise for public service employees and ensure that these events take place in the states to reduce the security challenges workers face while traveling to Abuja and other far distances for these purposes.

” We equally commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intensifying efforts to stem insecurity in the land so that citizens could travel to various parts of the country without the fear of being kidnapped or killed.”
