The Sokoto State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, in collaboration with the State Cares Coordination Unit (SSCU), has organized a two-day capacity-building workshop for NG-Cares Programme staff.

Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana, urged participants to uphold the programme’s objectives and ensure its successful implementation.

Dr. Zayyana emphasized that strengthening the capacity of NG-Cares staff would enable more residents of the state to benefit from the initiative, which is designed to support vulnerable groups.

He noted that the training aligns with Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s administration’s commitment to fostering economic growth and development, as outlined in the State Development Plan.

Speaking on the significance of the training, Dr. Zayyana highlighted the importance of continuous capacity-building for effective programme implementation.

“This training is crucial for enhancing the skills and knowledge of our NG-Cares staff, enabling them to deliver quality service with dedication and efficiency,” he stated.

He further urged participants to apply the knowledge gained to improve productivity and service delivery.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Maryam Ahmad Barade, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens.

She stressed the need for collaboration and teamwork among stakeholders to achieve the programme’s objectives and the state’s broader development goals.

Earlier, the Head of the Sokoto State NG-Cares Coordination Unit, Alhaji Buhari Umar Musheshi, outlined the key objectives of the workshop. He said the training aimed to review programme implementation, identify challenges, and propose solutions for better efficiency.

Alhaji Musheshi also expressed appreciation for the state government’s support and commitment, which, he noted, had contributed significantly to the successes recorded so far.

The workshop, attended by 45 NG-Cares staff, was designed to enhance service delivery and contribute to the state’s economic development.
