Kano State Government has been called upon to sustain the weekly publications of Triumph newspapers.
An ardent Triumph newspapers’ reader in Katsina State, Alhaji Abdu Bawa Dutsinma, Sarkin Labarai Maradin Katsina, made the call in Katsina.
He stressed that the newspaper should maintain its publications of hardcopy rather than going exclusively online.
He explained that most of the readers of the Triumph newspapers in Katsina State were retired civil servants who still enjoyed the old fashioned way of reading newspapers.
Alhaji Dutsimma noted that Triumph newspapers enjoyed patronage by people of Katsina , Kano and other neighboring states who buy the hardcopies at news stands.
The ardent newspaper reader expressed the need for Kano State Government to enhance the production of Triumph newspapers Kano as it attracted advertisement in most of the government ministries, departments and agencies in Katsina.
The Sarkin Labarun Maradin Katsina urged Kano State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya to reject any move to abolish the production of the newspaper.
He noted that the publication has been publishing Kano State Government policies and programmes for long, hence the need to sustain the tempo.
He emphasized the relevance of newspaper towards enlightening the public on government programmes and assured to be patronizing the newspaper being one of the media organizations defending the Northern region.
