The Member representing Tarauni Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Dahiru Sule (ADS), has completed the renovation of the Shakatafi Health Clinic located in Daurawa Babban Layi Ward, bringing relief to residents who had endured years of poor healthcare services due to the dilapidated condition of the facility.

The project, which involved structural refurbishment, repair of critical sections, and the provision of essential medical equipment, was executed to improve service delivery and strengthen access to primary healthcare in Tarauni Local Government Area.

He dropped the hint through his Public Relations Officer in Tarauni Local Government, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, saying the clinic had been neglected since its establishment and had never undergone major renovation until now.

“This project is part of my broader efforts to fulfill campaign promises, particularly in enhancing access to quality healthcare. It also forms part of our ongoing commitment to improve facilities across all ten wards under Tarauni LGA,” he said.

Sule expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, and the leadership of the NNPP in Tarauni for their support in facilitating community development initiatives.

He also commended the contractor for executing what he described as a “standard-compliant renovation.”

The Councillor representing Daurawa Ward, Hon. Nasiru Muhammad Mula, said the project was long overdue and would greatly benefit the people.

“This renovation has been long awaited. We are grateful to the Honourable Member for making it a reality. This clinic plays a vital role in providing health services to the community. We hope he will extend similar interventions to other health centres in neighbouring wards,” Mula said.

Similarly, the Head of Health Services in Tarauni LG, Alhaji Muktar Datti Gwarzo, described the intervention as timely and impactful.

“The renovation of Daurawa Clinic will significantly reduce the hardship faced by patients, especially pregnant women and children, who had to travel long distances for basic medical services. With this facelift, healthcare access has been brought closer to the people,” he said.

Residents of Daurawa welcomed the intervention, noting that it had restored confidence in the ability of government officials to deliver on their promises. Community elders also highlighted the facility’s importance in reducing maternal and child mortality.

Observers believe that Sule’s intervention goes beyond infrastructure—it reinforces his image as a responsive and people-centered lawmaker. Political analysts in Kano argue that fulfilling campaign promises, particularly in the health sector, could strengthen his influence within the constituency and enhance his standing in the state assembly.

“In politics, tangible results speak louder than promises. By reviving this clinic, Hon. Sule is not just delivering development; he is also building political capital and trust among his constituents,” said a political commentator in Tarauni.

While community members celebrate the Daurawa project, expectations are high for similar interventions across other wards. The lawmaker has already hinted at additional projects, including school renovations, water supply schemes, and more health interventions.

For many residents, the project is more than an infrastructure upgrade—it is a symbol of renewed hope. Mothers who once worried about the long trek to other hospitals, and children who lacked quick access to treatment, now see the clinic as a beacon of relief.

As one elder put it, “This is what leadership should be about—touching lives where it matters most.”
