The Tsakuwa Mufarka Sustainable Development Association, based in Tsakuwa town, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State, has donated hypertension medication and insecticide-treated mosquito nets to the Tsakuwa Primary Health Centre as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the community.
A member of the association, Abdullahi Yusuf Wagadi, announced the intervention on the community’s WhatsApp platform.
According to Wagadi, the items were presented through the community health committee established under the leadership of the Village Head of Tsakuwa, Alhaji Ismail Santali Tsakuwa.
He explained that the hypertension drugs were donated by Dahiru Usman Namado and would be distributed free of charge to patients receiving treatment at the health facility.
The committee also presented mosquito nets for distribution to children who have completed their routine immunisation at the health centre.
The initiative is aimed at supporting maternal and child healthcare while promoting the prevention and management of hypertension and malaria in the community.
Community leaders described the intervention as part of ongoing efforts to complement government healthcare services and improve residents’ access to basic medical support.
