The newly appointed Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, declaring that his redeployment to a new ministry would not diminish his dedication to serving the people of the state.
Waiya made this known on Wednesday while formally assuming office at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, where he expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for renewing the confidence reposed in him and entrusting him with another important responsibility in the state government.
The former Commissioner for Information described his relationship with the Governor as one built on trust, friendship, mutual understanding and a shared commitment to the development of Kano State.
He stressed that their relationship goes beyond political appointments or the particular ministry an individual occupies, adding that the ultimate objective remains the success of the government and the improvement of people’s lives.
He further explained that changes in ministerial responsibilities are part of the normal administrative process of government and should not be interpreted as a breakdown in relationships or an end to public service.
According to him, what matters most is maintaining loyalty, integrity, mutual respect and dedication to the responsibilities entrusted to public officials.
The Commissioner called on stakeholders, colleagues and other well-meaning individuals to strengthen unity, cooperation and constructive engagement in support of the government’s development agenda.
He emphasised that collective responsibility and meaningful contributions remain essential to achieving sustainable progress in the state.
Waiya also expressed his readiness to work closely with the ministry’s leadership, management and staff to ensure that his new assignment delivers meaningful results, particularly in advancing youth development and promoting sports across Kano State.
He maintained that public service is not defined by the position an individual occupies but by the commitment, sacrifice and positive impact made in the lives of the people.
He assured the people of his determination to contribute his best towards the continued development of Kano State.
