An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Adamawa State has called for unity to strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections.
Chief Morris Vunobolki made the declaration on Tuesday at the Yola Conference Centre, along Army Barracks Road in Yola, the state capital.
The gathering drew supporters from all 21 local government areas, including political associates, traditional stakeholders, youth and women’s groups.
Addressing the crowd, Vunobolki reiterated the need for purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and accelerated development across all sectors of the state.
The aspirant highlighted key priority areas, including economic revitalisation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, and youth empowerment.
He noted that Adamawa possesses vast human and natural resources that must be effectively harnessed.
He called for unity within the APC, urging party members to work collectively to strengthen the party’s chances in the upcoming elections.
“Only a united front can ensure victory and bring about the desired transformation in the state,” he said.
Political observers say Vunobolki’s entry into the race introduces a new dynamic to the contest, particularly within the APC, where the battle for the party’s ticket is expected to be keenly contested among several aspirants.
Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism about his candidacy, describing him as a seasoned leader with the capacity to drive development and provide effective governance.
However, analysts note that securing the APC ticket will require strategic alliances, grassroots mobilisation, and strong political backing.
Following this development, the race toward the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State is gradually taking shape, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and closely watched political contest.
Vunobolki is among the first aspirants to break the ice by declaring his intention to contest for the Adamawa State Government House in 2027.
