The Plateau State Command has successfully apprehended four (4) suspects in connection to the theft of thirty (30) solar panels within the State.
On the 20th of July, 2024, the Command received a report at the Anglo Jos Police Station stating that on the same date at about 01:00 AM, some individuals conspired together and stole thirty (30) solar panels, which they then sold to one Nangwan Nantip Male, of Bukuru Express, Jos.
On receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Anglo Jos under the instruction of the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, immediately led the surveillance team to the residence of the said receiver and arrested him.
Following diligent investigative work carried out by the operatives, the following suspects were arrested; one Muru Goshit, Vincent Maika, and Kefas Gomah all males of Guratop.
The suspects all confessed to the crime and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of our investigation.
The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, is pleased to inform the general public that the stolen solar panels have been successfully recovered and are in our custody.
He therefore calls on the owners of these solar panels to come to the Anglo-Jos Divisional Headquarters to claim their properties with reasonable proof of ownership.
The Police helmsman also wishes to reassure the good people of Plateau State, that we will continue to crack down on all criminal activities and will not hesitate to prosecute those found engaging in illegal activities.
The Plateau State Command urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the Police Command.
