The Kano State Neighborhood Watch Security Corps, Kumbotso Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, conducted a joint Show of Force on February 17, 2026, as part of proactive measures to boost safety ahead of the 2026 Ramadan and Sallah festivities.
The exercise brought together personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, the Special Services Unit, and commands of the Corps from Kano Municipal, Tarauni, Gwale, and Kumbotso.
WO Isa Suleiman (RTD), Commander of Kumbotso Command, led the operation alongside the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ja’oji Division. The joint team covered key areas, including Tukuntawa (Gidan Radio), Kwarin Barka, Sheka Gari, Danmaliki, Medile Hamdala Line, Shagari Quarters, and Rafin Kuka Quarters.
Speaking during the operation, Commander Suleiman reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to ensuring peace and security in Kano metropolis throughout the festive period.
“The Show of Force demonstrates the preparedness, unity, and coordination of our security agencies in deterring criminal activities and maintaining law and order,” he said.
He further assured residents that sustained patrols, intelligence gathering, and rapid response mechanisms would continue to protect lives and property.
Commander Suleiman also commended the Corps’ Commander General, Lt. Col. Aminu Yusuf Abdulmalik (RTD), for his mentorship and unwavering support in enhancing the efficiency and morale of the personnel.
The Corps appealed to the public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and cooperative by providing credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations.
“The Kano State Neighborhood Watch Security Corps remains committed to working with all stakeholders to maintain a safe and conducive environment for all residents of Kano State,” he added.
