The Kano State Government has distributed over 2,000 Very High Frequency radio devices to strengthen security operations across the state.
The disclosure was contained in a press statement issued on Monday, and signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the Kano State Neighborhood Watch Security Agency, Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim Anipr.
The Commander General of the Kano State Neighborhood Watch Security Corps, Lt. Col. Aminu Yusuf Abdulmalik, made this known during the official distribution of the communication gadgets at the agency’s headquarters on Monday.
Abdulmalik, who was represented by the Director of Operations, Habibu Balarabe Madigawa, said the devices were handed over to five Sector Commanders for onward distribution to Local Government Commanders and supporting officers across the state.
He explained that the move was part of the government’s broader commitment to improving logistics support and equipping security agencies with modern tools to enhance their operations.

“Over 2,000 VHF Radio Walkie Talkies have been distributed to our five Sector Commanders for onward allocation to Local Government Commanders and their supporting officers,” he said.
According to him, the communication gadgets will improve real-time information sharing, rapid response capability and coordinated interventions among field operatives.
“Effective communication remains a critical pillar in modern security management, particularly in intelligence gathering, emergency response and inter-agency collaboration,” he added.
Madigawa reiterated the corps’ commitment to professionalism, vigilance and dedication in the discharge of its responsibilities, noting that the equipment would further enhance operational efficiency.
He also urged residents to support security efforts by providing timely and credible information.
“We call on members of the public to continue cooperating with the corps by volunteering useful information that will assist in safeguarding lives and property,” he said.
The corps expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for what it described as his consistent support and sustained investment in strengthening the state’s security architecture.
It reaffirmed its resolve to complement conventional security agencies in maintaining peace, order and stability across Kano State.
