The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun unveiling its governorship flagbearers and leading aspirants across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections, with several candidates emerging through consensus, while others are still awaiting final primary results.
Our correspondent in Cross River State reports that, based on agency sources, the list reflects outcomes of concluded primaries, ongoing processes, and postponed exercises in different states.
Below is the breakdown:
In Abia State, Eric Opah clinched the ticket after securing a decisive 126,977 votes, defeating Henry Ikoh.
In Adamawa, Ahmed Galadima is reportedly in the lead, with final results still pending.
In Akwa Ibom, Governor Umo Eno emerged through consensus arrangements.
In Borno, Mustapha Gubio also secured the ticket via consensus, while in Cross River, Governor Bassey Otu emerged unopposed.
For Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori reportedly won convincingly with 345,375 votes.
In Ebonyi and Enugu, Governors Francis Nwifuru and Peter Mbah respectively emerged through consensus.
In Gombe, Jamilu Gwamna topped the contest with 247,161 votes, defeating strong contenders including Isa Pantami and Saidu Ahmed Alkali.
Other states such as Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, and Niger also recorded consensus outcomes with sitting governors emerging as flagbearers.
In Lagos, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat recorded a landslide victory with 657,917 votes.
In Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola won after polling 304,055 votes.
Meanwhile, primaries are still pending or postponed in Bauchi, Kwara, and Nasarawa, while states such as Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, and Yobe are still awaiting final declarations despite leading aspirants.
In Rivers State, Ogundu Kingsley Chinda emerged after a consensus arrangement following withdrawals by other contenders.
In Sokoto and Zamfara, Governors Ahmad Aliyu and Dauda Lawal respectively emerged as consensus candidates.
States with off-cycle governorship elections—Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun—did not conduct primaries.
The party is expected to conclude outstanding processes in the remaining states in the coming days as preparations for 2027 intensify.
