Dr. Abdullahi Garba Ali, the caretaker chairman of Nassarawa Local Government Area, has revealed some of the 15 key achievements his administration has made.
Ali, made the revelations while briefing newsmen on Tuesday, stressing that his administration had complied with the government’s efforts toward meeting the needs of the people.
Tabling the feats achieved in the four months, Dr Ali disclosed that he started with the welfare of his staff, “We paid five months areas of the LGA casual staff and warned them to be punctual to their respective duties.
“We ordered the immediate general renovation of the hospitals in Badawi, Ladanai and Saye all in the LG, and the creation of maternal departments in all the hospitals, as part of efforts to cushion and reduce maternal death.”
He highlighted building new classroom teachers, drainage channels to prevent flooding, and collaborating with security agencies to reduce crime rates.
He averted that his administration championed the transformation of the LGA work from analogue to digital, through which he wooed foreign donations to the local government area.
Dr. Ali further revealed that he distributed 100 science secondary school scratch cards to students from wards of the local government.
As part of water, he said: “They said he was able to repair 37 boreholes,” he concluded.
Looking ahead, Ibrahim outlined his plans for the remaining period of his tenure, emphasizing his commitment to youth empowerment, agricultural development, school renovation among others.
Overall, the press conference provided a glimpse into the activities of the Dala LGA caretaker administration in its first four months. As the tenure progresses, it will be interesting to see how the administration addresses the concerns raised by residents and builds upon its achievements.
