The Federal Government has pledged to provide additional military aircraft and drones to Katsina and Zamfara states for the fight against insecurity.
The Minister of Defense, Badaru Abubakar, who spoke in Katsina, further pledged that more military troops will be deployed to the two states.
Abubakar, who was in Katsina to assess the security level situation, assured that President Tinubu would do everything possible to end the insecurity challenges facing the region.
He said the government is reviewing the insecurity situation and adopting new measures to restore peace in troubled states.
“President Tinubu has directed us to work to end insecurity; we are working round the clock to end the problem within the shortest time,” he said.
The Minister who addressed military troops at Durbin Baure, a border between Katsina and Zamfara, directed them to crush bandits and other criminals.
He assured them that the Federal Government would continue to improve their welfare and other needs and commended them for their commitment to duty.
While briefing newsmen, Badaru noted that attacks and kidnappings on communities in Zamfara and Katsina have drastically reduced.
“I have toured the two states by road, and based on what I have seen, peace is gradually restoring in Katsina and Zamfara states,” he emphasised.
The minister commended the governors of the two states for their unwavering commitments to ending insecurity in their states
He called on communities to assist security agents in providing information on the hideout of criminals.
