In a statement marking his first anniversary as Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian government, staff, and partners for their unwavering support.
Ndace, a seasoned journalist with a distinguished career, highlighted the significant strides made by VON under his leadership. He credited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Information and National Orientation for their trust and guidance.
“In the past year, we have renewed and deepened our partnerships with various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), ensuring that VON remains a vital instrument in promoting national unity and furthering Nigeria’s global standing,” Ndace said.
One of the notable achievements during his tenure was the strengthening of VON’s international reach through partnerships with the Voice of America (VOA) and the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).
These collaborations have allowed VON to amplify Nigeria’s perspectives on global issues.
Internally, Ndace emphasized the importance of fostering a strong and cohesive team within VON. He conducted visits to the organization’s zonal offices to connect with staff at all levels and ensure that the VON’s goals and vision are shared across the organization.
“To the entire VON management and staff, your hard work, dedication, and resilience have been central to our success,” Ndace commended. He also expressed his appreciation to VON’s partners and listeners for their trust and collaboration.
As VON enters its second year under Ndace’s leadership, the organization is poised to continue its growth and innovation. Ndace reaffirmed VON’s commitment to excellence and its role in representing Nigeria on the global stage.
