The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Gombe South, John Jerry Damara, has expressed appreciation to party members and supporters for what he described as the massive turnout recorded during the party’s primary election.
Damara made the remarks shortly after casting his vote at Kulishin in Shongom Local Government Area, where the exercise was conducted peacefully.
Speaking with journalists after voting, he commended party loyalists and residents of the constituency for their orderly and peaceful participation, describing the process as smooth, transparent and credible.
He also appreciated the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to justify the trust if elected in the general election by attracting meaningful development projects to Gombe South Senatorial District.
According to him, he has already embarked on several community development initiatives across the district, including the drilling of boreholes and other humanitarian interventions aimed at improving access to basic amenities.
Damara further appealed to other aspirants who participated in the primary election to unite and work together for the success of the APC in future elections.
Similarly, an election observer and Chairman of the APC in Gombe State, Mohammed Dantata Ndus, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, noting that the process was peaceful across all wards in the senatorial district.
He described the primary election as transparent and credible, while commending party members for their discipline and orderly conduct throughout the exercise.
