Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has called on North West Governors to strengthen inter-state security collaboration.
Speaking in Katsina state at the two-day Security Summit, Dare further said the states need to ensure intelligence sharing and regular interaction with the public to end the lingering terrorism engulfing the region.
Dauda who spoke at length on the the negative effects of banditry, said there need for an immediate approach to deal with the problem for the progress and development of the states.
He said his administration has come up with various measures to deal with the problem.
Such measures, according to him include the introduction of a vocational and skills centre, the setting up of a State Security Guard, and the revival of agriculture activities among others.
He commended the commitment of the North West Governors in the fight against insecurity.
