…Pledges to defend from Saboteurs

With the commencement of the Gasoline production, also known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by Dangote Refinery on Sunday, the 1st day of September 2024, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Gas Workers (NUPENG) has commended the Federal Government and Alhaji Aliko Dangote Group for this remarkable achievement.
According to NUPENG, Dangote Refinery has not only brought a significant historical milestone landmark in this country but has also represented Nigeria’s energy independence and economic growth.
It said, “This day has been long anticipated and awaited with bated breath and prayers not only by Nigerians but by the entire continent of Africa. We are very proud of you, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, you are a man with uncommon courage and determination. You have dared to dream and thread where no mortal has ever done”
This was contained in a congratulatory letter signed and issued to newsmen in Abuja by the General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Labi Olawale, to Alhaji Aliko Dangote and his management, further, read, “We recognize the immense efforts and dedication that you have gone into making this vision a reality.
“The successful production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at this state-of-the-art facility has not only marked a significant milestone for your Refinery but also represents a monumental step forward for Nigeria’s energy independence and economic growth.
“Alhaji Aliko Dangote, your visionary leadership and relentless pursuit of excellence have been instrumental in achieving this feat. Your contributions to the industrialization and economic development of Africa are truly commendable, and we are proud to witness the positive impact of your endeavours on our nation.
“As a union dedicated to the welfare and advancement of workers in the petroleum and natural gas industry, NUPENG is excited about the opportunities this development will bring in terms of employment for Nigerians, socioeconomic prosperity and monumental growth of our dear country.”
The members of the Union promised to continue to collaborate and partner with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company to ensure the growth and sustainability of the Oil and Gas industry, they also assured to provide their energy and resources available to ensure they did not only defend but also to protect the Refinery from the hands of economic saboteurs.
“We are also not unmindful of the plots and schemes of sworn enemies of the masses and nation’s economic saboteurs to derail the wheels of progress of this wonderful trail-blazing train, but as NUPENG, we pledge to make available all our might and resources to defend and protect this beautiful African pride.
“We look forward to continuing to collaborate and partner with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company to ensure the growth and sustainability of the oil and gas industry,” it stated.
