From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
The Katsina State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Dr. Faisal Kaita, has called for unity and cooperation among members of the All Progressives Congress in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Kaita made the appeal during the affirmation of candidates for the State House of Assembly, warning that a lack of unity and cooperation within the party could undermine its chances at the polls.
“Let me warn you, we can only succeed if there is unity within the party. We must unite and work for the success of the party in the 2027 election,” he said.
He also advised party members who lost in the primaries to accept their fate as the will of God and support the party’s flagbearers in the interest of victory.
“I warn you not to join the opposition. Life under the opposition will be difficult for you,” he added.
The Commissioner commended the adoption of consensus arrangements within the party, but stressed that members must intensify efforts to promote the party’s manifesto to the electorate.
“We need to go around, meet the people, apologize to them, and seek their votes,” he stated.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Kaita Local Government Area, Bello Yandaki, described the consensus arrangement as the best option for producing credible candidates.
Yandaki, who also chairs the consensus committee in the area, announced that the incumbent member of the State Assembly, Sirajo Abdu Kwas-Kwaro, was unanimously endorsed as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
“On behalf of the members of the consensus committee, I hereby present Sirajo Abdu as the sole candidate of the APC for Kaita State Assembly,” he declared.
Meanwhile, the Umar Radda attended the affirmation exercise held across the state, including Chiranchi Local Government Area, where he commended party members for their maturity, discipline, and orderly conduct during the process.
The All Progressives Congress in Katsina State affirmed 34 candidates for the State House of Assembly seats in preparation for the 2027 elections.
