From Mu’awuya Bala Idris, Katsina
A former staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Kaduna and veteran journalist, Abubakar Badaru Jimkashi, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the State House of Assembly seat representing Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Badaru emerged through a consensus arrangement and was affirmed by party members during a ceremony held in Musawa town.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairman of the Consensus Committee, Aliyu Idris, said Badaru secured the party’s ticket after satisfying all the criteria required to represent the local government area.
Idris stated that the candidate had excelled in various public service positions and demonstrated competence, honesty, and commitment to serving the people.
The committee chairman, who presented Badaru to party members, called on other aspirants who lost the contest to support him.
He also commended stakeholders and party members for ensuring the successful conduct of the consensus and affirmation exercise.
Responding, Badaru commended party members for the confidence reposed in him.
Badaru, a former Senior Special Assistant on Radio and Print to Governor Dikko Umar Radda, said that if elected, he would work closely with party elders to develop the area.
He listed education, youth and women empowerment, and the fight against insecurity as some of his priorities.
Badaru also expressed appreciation to Governor Radda for his support and encouragement while serving in his administration.
