The Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, is set to partner with AFDIN Group Chairman, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, to promote research, entrepreneurship, and national development.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi Usman, disclosed this while leading the university’s management team on a courtesy visit to Alhaji Mangal at his residence in Katsina.
Professor Usman said the proposed partnership is aimed at harnessing research and innovation to address societal challenges, create entrepreneurial opportunities, and improve the lives of Nigerians.
He also formally invited Alhaji Mangal to serve as the Special Guest at the university’s forthcoming pre-convocation lecture scheduled for November.
According to him, the lecture will focus on business, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment.
The Vice-Chancellor described Alhaji Mangal as a successful businessman whose wealth of experience would inspire students and young entrepreneurs.
“During the lecture, we want you to speak to our young people and encourage them on business, trade, and entrepreneurship skills, especially considering the high rate of unemployment among our teeming youth,” Professor Usman said.
He added that FUDMA currently offers nearly 60 academic programmes and intends to leverage research findings across various disciplines to provide practical solutions to societal problems and contribute meaningfully to national growth and development.
Responding, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal expressed appreciation for the visit and described the proposed collaboration as timely, beneficial, and impactful.
He accepted the invitation to attend the university’s pre-convocation lecture and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the advancement of university education, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
