The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has declared Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general election following the conclusion of its primary election.

Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu emerged victorious in the APC governorship primary election after defeating other aspirants in the contest held across the state.

The Chairman of the party’s Governorship Primary Election Committee in Adamawa State, Prof. Innocent Barikor, announced the final results at the Government House in Yola.

According to Prof. Barikor, Aminu scored 414,444 votes to defeat his closest rival, Abdulrazzaq Sa’ad Namdas, who polled 86,004 votes, while Abdulrahman Bashir Haske came third with 65,924 votes.

“Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu, having satisfied the requirements of the law and polled the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the APC governorship primary election for Adamawa State,” Barikor stated.

The electoral committee chairman commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and other stakeholders for their support and cooperation throughout the exercise, noting that the process was peaceful and transparent.

The declaration ceremony, held at the Government House in Yola, attracted party stakeholders, supporters, and government officials. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present during the collation and announcement of the results in compliance with electoral guidelines.

In his acceptance speech, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima Aminu thanked party delegates for their support and pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on development, unity, and economic revival in Adamawa State.

He also called on other aspirants to unite with him ahead of the 2027 governorship election, expressing confidence that the APC would reclaim power in the state.
With the victory, Aminu becomes the APC flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State, setting the stage for a keen political contest.
