The Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has appointed Mr Linus Obogo as his new Chief Press Secretary (CPS), replacing Mr Gill Nsa, who now assumes the role of Special Adviser on Public Affairs.

The Triumph gathered that, Obogo, a seasoned journalist and former staff member of ThisDay newspaper, becomes the third CPS to serve under Governor Otu within the last two years.

He was previously the Deputy CPS and also served in the administration of former Governor Ben Ayade in the same capacity.

The latest development is part of a broader strategy by the Otu administration to strengthen its media and public engagement machinery, amid increased scrutiny of government activities.

A government source hinted that the reshuffle followed internal reviews of the communication apparatus and the need to reposition the Governor’s image management team ahead of major policy rollouts.

The appointments of both Obogo and Nsa were conveyed in a letter dated June 17, 2025, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh.
