Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Wednesday attended the turbaning of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as the Sardauna of Ilorin.
Yusuf, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, attended the ceremony held at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin, which attracted governors, political leaders, traditional rulers and other dignitaries from across the country.
AbdulRazaq was conferred with the traditional title by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
Earlier in the day, Garo also represented Yusuf at the commissioning of the Kwara Garment Factory by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer, Office of the Deputy Governor, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, the deputy governor joined other government officials and dignitaries at the commissioning of the facility.
The statement said the commissioning marked the commencement of activities at the newly completed garment factory.
It added that Garo’s participation conveyed the presence and goodwill of the Kano State Government at the events, which brought together political and traditional leaders from different parts of the country.
The statement further said the engagements reflected the presence of the Kano State Government at the events and provided an opportunity for leaders from different parts of the country to interact.
The activities concluded with a reception and luncheon at the Atlantic Events Palace, Ilorin, attended by dignitaries and invited guests.
