Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has condoled with a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Gambo Sallau, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Maryam Dogara.
The governor’s condolences were conveyed on Tuesday by his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, during a visit to the deceased’s family residence in Kwanar Dangora, Kiru Local Government Area of the state.
Hajiya Maryam died on Saturday after a brief illness at the age of 49. She is survived by six children.
Speaking during the condolence visit, Garo said the state government shared in the grief of the family and prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
He described her death as a great loss not only to her immediate family but also to the Muslim community.
“The Kano State Government shares in your grief during this difficult period. We pray Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear this painful loss,” he said.
The deputy governor urged the family to accept the loss as the will of Allah, noting that death remains an inevitable reality for every human being.
“Death is a destiny that every soul must taste. While the loss is painful, we must continue to pray for the deceased and seek comfort in the will of Almighty Allah,” he added.
Garo also prayed for Allah to grant the bereaved family patience and fortitude to overcome the difficult moment.
Responding, Sallau thanked Governor Yusuf and the deputy governor for identifying with the family in their moment of grief.

“We are grateful to His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, for this show of concern and support. We pray Allah continues to guide and protect the leadership of the state,” Sallau said.
