Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved the appointment of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, as Adamawa State’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund.
Governor Fintiri said the appointment reflects his administration’s commitment to strengthening the region’s security architecture and ensuring that Adamawa State is effectively represented in critical decisions concerning the safety of lives and property.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, in Yola.
According to the statement, the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund was established by the Northern Governors’ Forum as a sub-national initiative aimed at complementing the efforts of security agencies.
The Fund is designed to support intelligence coordination, provide operational logistics, enhance inter-state collaboration, and promote community-based security initiatives across the 19 northern states.
Governor Fintiri described Boss Mustapha as highly qualified for the role, citing his extensive experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature.
“His wealth of experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature make Boss Mustapha eminently qualified to effectively represent the interests of Adamawa State on this all-important Board,” the governor stated.
Fintiri also expressed concern over the prevailing security challenges facing the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
He noted that the increasing cases of banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and communal clashes necessitated proactive intervention by the Northern Governors’ Forum through the establishment of the Trust Fund.
The governor congratulated Boss Mustapha on the appointment, describing it as recognition of his integrity, competence, and unwavering commitment to national development.
“I am confident that he will bring his vast experience to bear in advancing the objectives of the Trust Fund, fostering synergy among states, and ensuring that Adamawa’s voice is heard in the collective quest for a safer Northern Nigeria,” Fintiri said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with federal and regional stakeholders to ensure the security and wellbeing of all citizens.
