The Kebbi State Government on Friday held a special prayer session to mark the third anniversary of Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi.

The gathering attracted eminent Islamic scholars, community leaders, government officials, and politicians, who offered prayers for the continued success of the administration, the protection and good health of the Governor, as well as lasting peace, unity, and development across Kebbi State.

Speaking at the event, Governor Nasir Idris expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for His guidance, protection, and the progress recorded by his administration over the past three years.

According to a statement signed by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Idris said the achievements of his government were a reflection of Allah’s blessings and the consistent prayers of the people of the state.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s strong faith in Allah, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and the importance of prayers in governance, describing prayer as a cornerstone of his leadership approach.

“We have always believed in Allah and Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and that is why we commit all our affairs to Almighty Allah.

“We believe in the power of prayers in whatever we do,” he said.

Governor Idris also commended Islamic scholars and religious leaders for their continuous support, guidance, and prayers, describing their contributions as vital to the peace and development being experienced in Kebbi State.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad A. Bala, said the event was organised to appreciate Allah for the administration’s achievements and to seek divine guidance for greater success.

He explained that Islamic scholars in the state had designated May 29 as a special day of prayer in recognition of the Governor’s commitment to faith-based governance and service to humanity.

He added that sustained prayers for leaders remain essential for peace, progress, and prosperity in society.

Special prayers were led by prominent Islamic scholars, including Malam Nazifi Abubakar, Prof. Abubakar Wali, Sheikh Aliyu Ladda Bunza, Malam Nataraba Yauri, Sheikh Usman Na’ayi Jega, and Sarkin Mallaman Gwandu, Sheikh Ibrahim Wala, among others.

The clerics prayed for Allah’s protection over the Governor, members of his administration, and the people of Kebbi State, while also seeking divine blessings for lasting peace, unity, and sustainable development.
