Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has officially submitted his governorship nomination form to the All Progressives Congress (APC), confirming his intention to seek a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Comrade Ahmed Idris, said the nomination form was presented on Monday at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja. It was received on behalf of the party by the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu.
Argungu expressed confidence in Governor Idris’s leadership and electoral chances, commending his administration’s achievements in infrastructure development and improved living standards in Kebbi State.
“The APC is proud to have a leader like you. Your impact on infrastructure and human development in Kebbi State is evident. We are confident in your ability to secure victory in 2027. This is reality, not speculation,” he said.
Responding through his deputy, Senator Abubakar Umar-Tafida, the governor appreciated the party’s continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating on the gains already recorded.
He also called on the people of Kebbi State to sustain their support, assuring them of his administration’s dedication to delivering more dividends of democracy.
Governor Idris was accompanied by prominent party leaders and government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; former governor and lawmakers such as Senator Adamu Aliero and Senator Yahaya Abdullahi; the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida; and the Acting Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Samaila Muhammad Bagudo.
Others in the delegation included Senator Muhammad Magoro; State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru; Secretary of the 2023 Campaign Council, Abubakar Usman Gotomo; commissioners; APC Women Leader; members of the House of Representatives; Special Advisers; and other top government officials.
The submission of the nomination form marks a significant step in Governor Idris’s political journey as he seeks a renewed mandate to continue his administration’s development agenda in Kebbi State.
