The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, represented by his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo, accompanied Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo to formally receive his membership card of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The brief but symbolic event took place in Gwarzo Local Government Area on Tuesday, marking the official completion of Senator Gwarzo’s defection into the ruling party.
The event attracted a large gathering of party faithful, stakeholders and supporters across the state, underscoring the growing strength of the APC in Kano.
Dignitaries in attendance included Former Governors Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi T. Gwarzo; the chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Bichi; the member representing Kano Municipal, Engr. Sagir Koki; the member representing Gwarzo/Kabo Federal
Constituency, Abdullahi Mu’azu Babangandu; Kano State APC chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa; Muntari Ishaq, APC secretary, among others.
Speaking at the event Murtala Sule Garo described Gwarzo’s entry into the APC as a major political boost, noting that his influence and grassroots support would further strengthen the party’s structure across the state.
He said, “On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, I accompanied Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo as he formally becomes a registered member of our great party. This is a significant development that reinforces our growing strength across the state.
He added that although the Governor was unavoidably absent, he remains fully committed to the progress and unity of the party in Kano.
Garo reiterated the administration’s commitment to its “Kano First Agenda”, aimed at prioritising the welfare of the people through sustained investment in education, water supply, healthcare and agriculture.
He called on party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the ideals of the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
He also urged the people of the state to continue supporting the APC and to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in 2027 to ensure continuity and the consolidation of developmental strides.
