Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed appreciation over the peaceful and seamless adoption of Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar (Abba Bichi) as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Bichi Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Yusuf made the remarks while delivering his address during the affirmation of Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar by political stakeholders from the eleven wards of Bichi Local Government Area.
The event was held at Hagagawa Football Pitch in Bichi.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, in Kano on Saturday.
The Governor described the development as a clear demonstration of unity, mutual understanding, and political maturity among party stakeholders and aspirants in the constituency.
He commended party leaders, elders, and aspirants for placing the interest of the party and the people above personal ambitions, noting that such collective commitment would further strengthen the APC and enhance its chances of victory in the election.
Governor Yusuf also hailed Hon. Abba Bichi for his outstanding contributions to grassroots development and the execution of impactful constituency projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.
According to the Governor, the lawmaker has continued to provide quality representation through various developmental initiatives, empowerment programmes, and infrastructural projects across the constituency.
“I must, at this point, reaffirm my administration’s commitment to supporting leaders who remain dedicated to the welfare of the people and sustainable development,” the Governor stated.
He further urged party supporters and stakeholders to remain united and continue working together for the progress of the APC and the overall development of Kano State.
The Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Hon. Kabiru Masari, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, described Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar as a courageous and outstanding leader who continues to uphold the dignity of the people of his constituency through effective and quality representation.
In his response, Hon. Abubakar Kabiru Abubakar commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and other stakeholders for supporting his re-election bid for a second term.
He pledged to continue initiating and supporting developmental projects that would further enhance the growth and progress of his constituency, Kano State, and the country at large.
