From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina
The Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) has commenced strict enforcement measures against individuals dumping sand, soil, gravel, building materials, or any other items on roads across the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Authority, Abubakar Marwana Kofar Sauri, on behalf of the Director General of the Authority, retired Major Garba Yahaya Rimi.
According to the statement, the indiscriminate placement of such materials on public roads has been identified as a major cause of road accidents, a threat to public safety, and a significant hindrance to the free flow of traffic.
The agency strongly warned members of the public to desist from this unlawful practice and emphasized that anyone found violating this directive will face appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law.
It urged the public to report any instance of road obstruction to the Authority via its official hotline, 07079887711, for swift action.
The statement added that the agency remains committed to safeguarding lives and ensuring smooth and safe transportation across Katsina State.
