The Katsina State Government, in collaboration with local governments, has commenced the construction of primary health centers in all 361 wards across the state.

The Chairman of Zango Local Government, Aliyu Ahmed, disclosed this while receiving members of the Correspondents’ Chapel on a tour of the area.

Ahmed stated that 103 health centers had already been constructed, fully equipped with necessary facilities.

He further revealed that the state government is currently spending N450 million on upgrading Zango General Hospital.

Similarly, while receiving the visiting journalists, the Chairman of Mani Local Government, Dr. Yunusa Mohammed, said the council had spent N250 million on constructing drainages and culverts in various parts of the area.

He explained that, in collaboration with the state government, the council had disbursed cash assistance to youths and women to help them establish businesses.

To address water scarcity, the council has also commenced the construction of solar-powered boreholes and concrete wells.

Dr. Mohammed commended the state government for constructing new primary and secondary schools to accommodate the increasing number of pupils.
