Executive Secretary, Kano State Private and Voluntary Institutions Board (KSPVIB), Comrade Baba Abubakar Umar has announced that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the commencement of monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance visits to private schools across the state.

A statement issued and signed by
Ahmed Muhammad Sani Gwarzo, the Zonal Information Officer ofMunicipal Zone I said the visits are scheduled to begin next week with the aim of ensuring that minimum standards and quality education are consistently upheld in all schools.

According to the release Comrade Umar made this declaration during the Kano Sterling Schools Connect Tour Programme, organised by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) at the Conference Hall of the School of General Studies, Kano State Polytechnic, recently.

He emphasised that education remains the top priority of the current NNPP-led administration in the state, as demonstrated by the Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf’s declaration of a state of emergency in education and a significant increase in budgetary allocation to the sector.

The executive secretary said in 2024, education received 29.5% of the budget, which was further increased to 30.5% in 2025.

Comrade Umar highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to reforming the education sector and called on all stakeholders—including NAPPS, other associations, and private school proprietors—to cooperate fully in achieving the goals of quality and functional education for all.

He noted that private schools are a vital component of the education ecosystem, providing valuable services to a significant portion of the population despite various challenges.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the board under the current administration to enhance the quality of education across the state and reaffirmed its commitment to continued improvement.

Earlier, the state Chairman of NAPPS, Alhaji Imam Ahmad Zubairu, reassured parents of their children receiving quality education and sound discipline to prepare them for a successful future.

He urged parents to continue fulfilling their responsibilities, including the timely payment of school fees, to support the continued progress of their children’s education.

Alhaji Imam Ahmad Zubairu also pledged the full cooperation and maximum support of NAPPS for government initiatives and policies aimed at making Kano a role model in education development.

Speaking on behalf of the Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS), Chairman Barr. Dr. Sa’eed Bello commended Governor Yusuf for his commitment to revitalising the education sector for the benefit of the people of the state.
