The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared the winners of its Plateau State primary elections for the Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Announcing the results at the party office in Jos on Tuesday, the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Stella Potter, said the committee had successfully concluded the exercise across the state.
According to her, the committee declared Simon Bako Lalong as the APC candidate for the Plateau South Senatorial District, David Bitrus Barji for Plateau Central Senatorial District, and Simon Mwadkwon for Plateau North Senatorial District.
She further announced the successful candidates for the House of Representatives seats across the various federal constituencies.
They include Hon. Beni Lar for Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency, Joe Dashi for Shendam/Qua’an Pan/Mikang Federal Constituency, and Ishaya Lalu for Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency.
Others are Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase for Wase Federal Constituency, Dachung Musa Bagos for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, and Dalyop Fom for Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency.
Potter commended the state governor, APC state leadership, party stakeholders, delegates, and supporters for their cooperation and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise.
She described the primaries as successful and praised the aspirants for demonstrating maturity, discipline, and commitment to the unity of the party.
According to her, the APC remains the ultimate winner of the exercise, stressing that although one person may emerge as a candidate, every aspirant remains a valuable stakeholder in the party’s collective victory.
She also appreciated the APC National Chairman and members of the National Working Committee for entrusting the committee with the responsibility of conducting the primaries.
Potter urged party members to remain united and focused ahead of the general elections, stressing that a united APC would remain an unstoppable political force in Plateau State and across Nigeria.
The APC committee chairman further prayed for continued peace and success for Plateau State, the ruling party, and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
