A Katsina-based non-governmental organisation known as Zanan Wali Foundation has secured admission and offered scholarships for 200 students from Malunfashi and Kafur local government councils.

The benefitting students selected from poor backgrounds are to study at various state-owned science and technical schools.

Speaking while handing over admission letters to the students, the convener of the foundation, Engr. Hassan Tukur Tingilin said the initiative is one of the programmes financed by the foundation.

He said the students will be motivated and provide all financial assistance to pursue their education, stressing that the foundation will continue to invest in education for a better future society.

Tingilin, who is the managing director of the state Water Board, said the foundation will monitor the performance of the students in their various schools.

Earlier speaking, the vice-chairman of APC Funtua zone, Ibrahim Danjuma, called on wealthy individuals and organisations to emulate the foundation.

Our correspondent reports that the benefitting students were given school uniforms, textbooks, and other learning materials.
