Hon. Muhammad Garba Dogo Dan Amar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Katagum Federal Constituency in Bauchi State in the 2027 general elections, has said the party aligns with the interests of the Nigerian people and has remained one of the country’s prominent political parties since the return to democratic rule in 1999.
Garba Dogo made the remarks while inaugurating members of his campaign committee at the Oricon Hotel Conference Hall in Azare.
He said the PDP had continued to maintain a strong connection with the Nigerian people, adding that if elected, he and his colleagues would, by the grace of God, serve the people with respect, honesty and dedication.
The event was attended by key party stakeholders from Katagum, Shira and Toro Local Government Areas, led by Alhaji Abdu Kuda, a former chairman of Katagum Local Government Area.
According to Garba Dogo, the PDP stands out because, since the return to democratic rule, the party has, in his view, recorded significant achievements in delivering development to the people and the country.
He expressed confidence that, by the grace of God, the party would succeed in the forthcoming elections.
He therefore called on voters in Katagum Local Government Area to turn out in large numbers during the elections and support his candidacy for the House of Representatives, assuring them of his commitment to effective representation if elected.
He also urged voters to support other PDP candidates across the various levels of government.
Garba Dogo said that, to strengthen the campaign, he had constituted a 37-member committee tasked with reaching out to residents across the local government area and engaging with them on the party’s message.
He urged the committee members to discharge their responsibilities diligently by identifying and implementing effective strategies for the campaign.
He also conveyed a message from the PDP’s Bauchi State governorship candidate, Alhaji Usman Supi, urging voters to support the party’s candidates at all levels.
Earlier, the coordinator of the campaign committee, Yahya Muhammad Gadauji, assured the candidate that the committee would work diligently to support the party and his campaign throughout the constituency.
