The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Ishaya Tanko, has directed that all examinations scheduled to hold on Monday, 30th, and Tuesday, 31st March 2026, be rescheduled accordingly.

This decision follows the late evening fatal attacks by unknown gunmen on residents of Angwan Rukuba, an area that hosts many staff and students of the University, and the resulting tension in and around the area.

The directive was contained in a statement signed and issued by Emmanuel Madugu, Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations, for the Registrar, on Monday.

According to the statement, all examinations scheduled for Monday, 30th, and Tuesday, 31st March 2026, have been postponed and will be rescheduled accordingly.

It also advises members of the University community to remain vigilant and exercise extra caution in their movements on and off campus with immediate effect.

The University further strongly advises members to avoid going out very early in the morning and to report immediately any sign of a breach of public peace to the University Security Division.

University Management is actively liaising with relevant security agencies and monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of lives and property of members of the University community.

Further updates will be communicated in due course.
