The Plateau State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the leadership of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
Mrs. Nanbam Esther Dajuma Lot, the State’s SDG Project Coordinator, emphasized the administration’s focus on addressing poverty, hunger, quality education, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, and strong institutions for peace and justice.
“Governor Mutfwang’s ‘Time is Now’ mantra aligns perfectly with the UN’s 2030 Agenda,” she said. “We are working tirelessly to implement projects that promote climate resilience, economic empowerment, and social development across the state.”
The state government is actively addressing climate change through afforestation programs, sustainable agricultural practices, and climate-smart infrastructure.
These initiatives contribute to SDG 13 (Climate Action) and aim to create a greener and more sustainable future for Plateau State.
The government is also prioritizing human rights, gender equality, and social justice. By fostering inclusivity, peacebuilding, and the protection of human rights, they are advancing SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
Mrs. Lot urged the people of Plateau State to embrace sustainable practices and contribute to the realization of the SDGs.
She emphasized the importance of individual and collective action in creating a just, peaceful, and prosperous future for the state and the nation.
