Supporters and loyalists of Kashim Musa Tumsah (widely known as KMT) have intensified calls for him to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), following what they described as injustice, unfair treatment, and lack of transparency in the party’s governorship process in Yobe State.

The supporters, drawn from various parts of the state, said the growing agitation reflects widespread dissatisfaction among party faithful over the manner KMT was allegedly treated, despite his loyalty, commitment, and contributions to the growth of the APC in Yobe.

They described KMT as one of the most influential and widely accepted political figures in the state, with strong grassroots support cutting across youths, women, and other critical segments of society.

According to them, the repeated calls urging him to consider joining the NDC stem from the belief that he deserves a political platform where fairness, justice, and equal opportunity are guaranteed.

Many of the supporters insisted that KMT’s political strength and popularity remain intact, stressing that his influence across Yobe State has continued to grow regardless of recent political developments within the APC.

They further declared that a large number of supporters are prepared to stand firmly behind him should he decide to chart a new political course.

“Our support for Kashim Musa Tumsah remains unwavering. The people believe in his leadership, credibility, and vision for Yobe State,” one of the supporters said.

Despite the mounting pressure for a possible defection, the loyalists appealed to supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding while awaiting KMT’s next political decision.

The development is expected to further shape political discussions and alignments ahead of future electoral activities in Yobe State.
