President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured all 301,000 votes cast in the APC presidential primary election held on Saturday across the 3,991 polling units in Sokoto State, while his opponent, Mr. Stanley Osifo, recorded zero votes.

The results were announced in Sokoto by the State Chief Returning Officer, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

According to him, 301,000 registered voters were accredited and all cast their votes during the exercise. Acting in his capacity as Chief Returning Officer, Gov. Aliyu formally declared President Tinubu winner of the direct presidential primary election in the state.

He thanked the APC leader in the state and former governor, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for his continued support and guidance.

Speaking during the declaration ceremony, Gov. Aliyu expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and smooth conduct of the exercise across the state’s 23 local government areas, noting that the process was free of hitches in all 3,991 polling units.

He added that all collated results had been verified and would be transmitted to the National Collation Officer in Abuja.

The governor also commended party stakeholders, members, and the 23 local government collation officers for conducting the exercise in a peaceful, diligent, fair, and transparent manner.

Similarly, the APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Haruna Sarkin Gobir Adiya, applauded Gov. Aliyu, Sen. Wamakko, party stakeholders, and members for ensuring the seamless conduct of the primary election.

Among dignitaries who witnessed the declaration were Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko; Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Engr. Idris Muhammad Gobir; Minister of State for Works, Barr. Muhammad Bello Goronyo; Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga; and the member representing Bodinga, Dange-Shuni and Tureta Federal Constituency, among other APC chieftains in the state.
