Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA ) has enrolled 24,703 vulnerables into the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund in Kano Emirate.

The Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar disclosed this during an advocacy visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in his palace recently.

The visit was part of the efforts of the agency’s effort to create awareness and get the endorsement of the community leaders into the successful implementation of the scheme.

She appreciated the emir for his exemplary leadership style, and also explained the various programmes under the scheme.

The executive secretary pleaded with the Emir to support the agency in monitoring the implementation of Basic Healthcare Provision Funds and other vulnerable programmes in various Primary Health Cares through the district heads and village heads to ensure effective service delivery to the beneficiaries of the scheme.

She also called on the Emirate to fast track the establishment of WAQF foundations to support vulnerable population by enrolling them into the scheme.

On his part, Emir Bayero commended her and the team for their effort in helping the poor and vulnerable to access quality and affordable healthcare in the state.

He also appreciated the effort of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the various policies that improve the lives of the people, assuring his support as always,and his door is open to the agency at all times, according to a statement issued by Muhammad Nuta Yusuf, the spokesman of the agency.
