Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State House of Assembly primaries scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, an aspirant for the Karshi Constituency seat in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Hon. Jeremiah Bitrus, has pledged to deliver quality representation and meaningful development projects if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists in Uke, Karu Local Government Area, Hon. Bitrus expressed confidence in his chances of emerging victorious in the party primaries, stating that his long-standing relationship with the grassroots would work in his favour.
According to him, if given the mandate at both the APC primaries and the 2027 general elections, he would ensure effective representation and bring democratic dividends to the people of Karshi Constituency.
“If given the mandate at the party primaries and eventually elected in 2027, I will ensure that my people are properly represented and their interests protected,” he said.
The aspirant noted that his political career has always been rooted at the grassroots level, adding that his commitment to the welfare of the people has earned him widespread support across the constituency.
Hon. Bitrus also dismissed rumours suggesting that he had stepped down for a consensus arrangement, insisting that he remained fully in the race and optimistic about winning the primaries.
“There is nothing like withdrawal or consensus. I am fully prepared for the election, and I believe the people will support me,” he stated.
He further observed that among the five wards that make up the Karshi Constituency, Karshi Ward Two, his ward has never produced an elected official at the state level except for councillors, stressing that it was time for the ward to be given the opportunity.
The aspirant assured constituents that, if elected, he would focus on projects and programmes that would directly improve the lives of the people, particularly in the areas of primary healthcare, education, youth empowerment, road construction, and agricultural support.
He also called on his supporters to remain peaceful and avoid any form of violence during the electoral process.
“Election is not a do-or-die affair. It should reflect the will of the people. I urge all my supporters to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the process,” he added.
