Related peace in Song has been violated as five feared death, and several others sustained injuries in a clash between farmers and herders in the Kukta community in Waltadi District, Song local government area of Adamawa state.
Recalled, Song, the headquarters of the local government area, woke up to celebrate the 57th birthday of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiti, unfortunately surrounded by dead bodies.
Recently, the council chairman, Hon. Idris Yahaya, in preparation for his 100 days in office, told some journalists that he had just come out of a stakeholders meeting between farmers and herders who promised free and fair celebration and wondered about the course of this clash and pledged to collaborate with the security to ensured the perpetrators are brought to book.
On Saturday and Sunday where, herders and farmers clashed in Song, violently killing each other.
The violence at the wee of Saturday and Sunday clash leaving several people dead and houses set ablaze.
The Adamawa State Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the attack.
He said the Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankombo, has deployed operatives of the command at the scene and the situation is currently under control.
