The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has transported 7,797 Nigerian pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah for the lesser Hajj (Umrah).
A statement posted on the NAHCON website today shows that 17,471 pilgrims are already in the Holy Land.
According to the release, the number of Nigerian pilgrims currently in Madinah is 9,674.
It further indicated that out of the 17,471 pilgrims, 11,047 are male, while 6,424 are female.
The Nigerian pilgrims were airlifted to Madinah via 43 flights; none have landed at Jeddah Airport so far.
According to the statement, pilgrims from 22 states of the federation are currently in the Holy Land for the Hajj exercise.
