A non-governmental organization, Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-orientation, has honoured Katsina State’s Special Adviser on Banking and Finance, Hajiya Bilkisu Sulaiman Ibrahim, in recognition of her exemplary public service and ethical leadership.
Hajiya Bilkisu was presented with the Integrity Stewardship Award and inducted as a “Service Ambassador” by the organization.
Speaking at the award ceremony, the Executive Director of the NGO, Comrade Abubakar Abraham Oyibo, said the honour was in recognition of Bilkisu’s proven track record of integrity, visionary leadership, and her contribution to economic development in Katsina State.
He commended her dedication, humility, and commitment to excellence in public service, noting that such qualities are rare and deserving of national recognition.
Comrade Oyibo also revealed that the award was part of the organization’s nationwide initiative aimed at driving reforms in five key sectors: education policy systems, healthcare, infrastructural development, youth inclusion in governance, and economic reform and sustainability.
According to him, the program spans Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, with Katsina and Kaduna States selected for focused engagement in the North-West.
He further praised the administration of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, describing it as “intelligent, people-oriented, and particularly committed to women empowerment.” He lauded Hajiya Bilkisu as “one in a million” and a shining example of female leadership in governance.
“Despite widespread reports of corruption and maladministration uncovered during our nationwide field assessments, Katsina State stands out as a beacon of hope, order, and responsible governance,” Oyibo said.
In her response, Hajiya Bilkisu expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as both humbling and inspiring. She reaffirmed her commitment to promoting inclusive and sustainable development across all sectors and pledged continued support for Governor Radda’s vision of integrity, accountability, and people-centered governance.
In a related development, Hajiya Bilkisu was also conferred with a Fellowship Award by the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICAD) during its 2025 Kick-off Strategy Conference
