In a move to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Plateau State has deployed 1,784 personnel across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The State Commandant, Ishaku Musa, announced the deployment while addressing officers and men of the Corps at the state headquarters in Jos. He directed a total security beef-up across all identified flashpoints, worship centres, and critical public spaces before, during, and after the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
Commandant Musa emphasized the Corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, while also protecting critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.
He warned that the Corps would deal decisively with any criminal elements attempting to breach public peace during the celebration. “The Corps will leave no stone unturned in dealing decisively with all miscreants, criminals, and vandals who are planning to disrupt the relative peace the state is enjoying,” he said.
While extending his best wishes to the Muslim faithful for a peaceful and fruitful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Commandant urged all residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies for effective service delivery.
He assured that the NSCDC would work in synergy with other sister security agencies to maintain peace and order throughout the festive period.
Security has been a top concern in Plateau State in recent times, and the Corps’ proactive approach is expected to provide a sense of safety and reassurance to residents and worshippers during the Sallah celebration.
